Literally The Best Banana Bread Recipe

The Only Banana Recipe You’ll Ever Need

There’s nothing like the aroma of freshly baked banana loaf filling your kitchen. In our house, it’s a favorite, especially for my daughter, who can hardly wait for it to come out of the oven before she’s asking for a slice. And who could blame her? This Banana Recipe is irresistibly delicious! And I’m so excited to share the best banana bread recipe with you.

Banana Bread fresh out of the oven

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3-4 ripe bananas

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350 F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or an 8×8 baking dish
  2. Mash the Bananas: In a medium bowl, mash the ripe bananas (I like them chunky). Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and packed brown sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about a couple minutes
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  6. Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Add Bananas: Fold in the mashed bananas until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  8. Pour into Pan: Pour the batter into greased baking dish.
  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top is browning too quickly, loosley cover with foil
  10. Cool: Allow the banana bread loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Banana Bread Brilliance

Once the Banana Bread Loaf is cool enough to handle, slice it up and enjoy! In our house, we can hardly wait for it to come out of the over. My daughter is always the first in line, eagerly asking for a warm slice straight from the oven. And who could blame her? This Banana Bread Recipe is moist, flavorful, and packed with the perfect blend of spices.

Pro Tips:

  • Bananas: I personally don’t use overripe bananas and that’s because I don’t like them. I use normal yellow bananas and I’ve never had a complaint!
  • Mix-Ins: Feel free to add chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or other toppings if you want
  • Storage: Store leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
